Sunrise Moment — A Coffee Chat Story
This morning, before I could even roll over, I felt that soft, early light sneaking through. You know that kind of light… gentle, and quiet. The world was quiet still. I was trying not to wake up Matthew. We went to sleep really late.
I felt the challenge of the day too soon. This morning had a jump start into my mental list of all the things—appointments, coaching sessions, Pilates, protein shake or bone broth, and did I forget to call my mom? But that day, more than ever, I pause, I whispered, “Good morning, Father. Good morning, Jesus. Good morning, Holy Spirit.”
What a way to wake up. Just three simple greetings—but oh, the peace that filled the room.
I went straight to my office, pulled out my journal, and asked, “What do You want to do today?” It wasn’t dramatic—no angels, no thunder, just a steady calm that wrapped around me like a blanket. I realized that today it wasn’t all about me. Also, I didn’t need to find God later in the day after coffee, after chaos, after being “ready.” I paused and turned my attention to God before the day carried me away.
I know well that if I give God my first hello in the morning, everything after it starts to align. My thoughts, my attitude, my pace—they all begin with Him instead of me.
That morning, I didn’t just wake up; I rose up.
🌤️ The Sunrise Moment is about first things first, starting your mornings with God, not just squeezing Him in later. It’s choosing connection before commotion—listening before leaping.
When you wake up and say, “Good morning, Father. Good morning, Jesus. Good morning, Holy Spirit.” You’re not just greeting the day, you’re inviting Heaven to order it.
So tomorrow, before you reach for your phone or your coffee, hit the pause button. Take one moment at a time. Whisper His name. Smile. And remember: the way you start your day can determine how you’ll walk through it. ☀️
